Woody Cleveland concentrates his practice in commercial and economic development lending. He has been granted the status of expedited closing attorney by the U.S. Small Business Administration. He also handles special asset cases consisting of commercial liquidations, work-outs, foreclosures and bankruptcy.
In 1985, he was appointed by the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee to a legislative study committee of legislators, lawyers and law professors to consider the adoption of a revised business corporation act in South Carolina. He is a co-author of The South Carolina Corporate Practice Manual, published by the South Carolina Bar in 1989, and the Second Edition published in 2005.
He has been a panelist and speaker at seminars sponsored by the South Carolina Bar, the National Business Institute, and Lorman Education Services on the following topics: commercial real estate financing, corporations, representing small businesses, bankruptcy reorganizations and protection of secured interests in bankruptcy, litigation discovery practices, ethics in real estate transactions, and SBA lending programs and economic development. |
