We speak the language of the Banking Industry. RTT commands extensive experience in all sectors of the banking industry. The attorneys in our Banking, Business and Commercial Development team act as lender’s counsel in a wide range of commercial lending transactions. Since 2000, for example, two of our attorneys have handled approximately $400 million in economic development loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Business Development Corporation of South Carolina, the Certified Development Corporation of South Carolina, and participating banks.
We regularly represent regional and community banks in loan transactions involving commercial and retail development, residential subdivision development, historic renovations and rehabilitations, and multi-family housing projects. We also structure, organize, and close multi-state transactions, shopping center acquisitions, and mixed-use developments. In addition we handle loan work-outs, restructure problem commercial loans, handle liquidations, foreclosures and bankruptcies, and we have experience in complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation.
RTT also represents banks in employment matters such as personnel policies, branch negotiations and closings, discrimination cases, and severance agreements. We have extensive experience with international transactions for financial institutions and related businesses. We have handled both domestic and international letters of credit and are knowledgeable about international financing arrangements, such as asset-based lending and accounts receivable lending.
