COLUMBIA - Rogers
Townsend Shareholder and Executive Committee member Michael Graham has received
the Meritorious Service Medal from the U.S. Army Reserve. The honor is bestowed upon service members
who have distinguished themselves by outstanding non-combat achievement. An Iraq War veteran, Graham is also the
recipient of a Bronze Star for his deployment in 2007-2008. In addition, he has been selected for
promotion to the rank of Major.
His non-combat roles have
included filling a Command Judge Advocate slot while serving as the Chief of
the Administrative Law section, and serving on the General Officer Support Team
for the Judge Advocate Readiness Mobilization and Integration Council
(JARMIC). Graham's military career led
him to an assignment at the Pentagon, and to his selection as a finalist for
the Reserve Officer Association's MG Strom Thurmond award for his service.
He was presented the Meritorious Service Medal on June 10, 2012 by Colonel William Britt, Commander of the 12th Legal Operations Detachment. The citation reads, "For exceptionally meritorious service across a broad spectrum of responsibilities and high visibility roles, mobilizations and deployments, CPT. Graham has demonstrated his tenacious commitment to serve. His selection as a finalist for the ROA MG Strom Thurmond Award is a testament to his leadership, selfless devotion to duty and never tiring professionalism. CPT. Graham's actions reflect great credit upon himself, the USAR Legal Command and the United States Army."
In addition to his military obligations, Graham leads Rogers Townsend's Title Services Department, and manages more than 50 title professionals in North and South Carolina, including abstractors and a staff of title reviewers and title insurance professionals. His department allows the firm to provide title services to support commercial and residential closings, mortgage foreclosures, and civil litigation.
